Question 1

Do purple keycaps work with a black keyboard case?

Accepted Answer

Yes — dark and cool-toned purples like deep violet or indigo pair especially well with black cases, creating a sleek, moody aesthetic. Lighter purples and lavenders also work on black cases if you want more contrast. Warm purples with pink or peach tones tend to look better on white or cream cases.

Question 2

Do purple keycaps show fingerprints or dirt easily?

Accepted Answer

Mid-tone and dark purples are among the more forgiving colors for hiding fingerprints, especially on PBT keycaps, which have a slightly textured matte surface that resists smudges. Very light lavender shades may show oils more visibly over time, though this is less of an issue with dye-sublimated PBT compared to glossy ABS.

Question 3

Are purple keycaps available in PBT?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Yuzu's keycaps are made from dye-sublimated PBT, which is the preferred material for durability and texture. PBT resists shine and fading over time, so your purple keycaps will stay vibrant with regular use.

Question 4

Can I get purple keycaps for a 65% or 75% keyboard?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Yuzu supports all major keyboard sizes including 60%, 65%, 75%, TKL, and full-size, as well as split and ortholinear layouts. You can design a purple keycap set precisely matched to your keyboard's layout, including non-standard key sizes like a 1.75u right shift.

Question 5

Can I mix purple with other accent colors on my keycaps?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and it's one of the most creative things you can do. Purple pairs naturally with cyan and teal for a vibrant, high-contrast look, with pink and rose for a warmer gradient feel, or with black and white for a more restrained aesthetic. Yuzu's customization tools let you assign different colors to individual keys, so you can design a set that blends exactly the shades you want.

Question 6

What keyboard setups suit purple keycaps best?

Accepted Answer

Purple keycaps are versatile enough to anchor a wide range of setups. Pastel purples and lilacs suit minimal, clean desks with light wood or white cases. Deep violets and dark purple sets work well on dark or industrial setups. If you have RGB lighting, cooler purple tones tend to interact beautifully with blue and purple LED effects.
