About Yuzu creations
Yuzu launched in 2024 with one goal: letting people turn their keycap ideas into something they can actually hold and type on. Creations are the community side of that — a way to share designs with others, so a great colorway doesn't stay locked to one person's keyboard.
What are creations for?
Not everyone finds it easy to pick colors, fonts, and icons from scratch. Decision paralysis is real, and a blank canvas isn't always inspiring.
Creations solve that. They're starting points — fully designed keycap sets that anyone can open, tweak to fit their keyboard and taste, and order. Think of them as templates made by people who've already done the hard creative work.
If you've built something you're proud of in the Playground, Creations let you share it with the rest of the community.
What's in it for creators?
Design fees — 5% per sale
Every time someone orders using your creation, you earn a 5% design fee. That applies to every purchase, for as long as your creation is live on Yuzu.
Community creators receive these fees as Yuzu vouchers. Designer creators are paid in cash.
Referral fees — 10% commission
Yuzu runs an affiliate program with a 10% commission on referred purchases. If someone clicks your affiliate link and buys within 30 days, you earn 10% of the order value (excluding shipping).
To qualify, you need an online presence — a website, social media channel, newsletter, or similar. Request an affiliate link by emailing contact@yuzukeycaps.com. Payouts are made in cash once you reach the $100 threshold.
Combine both
You can be a creator and an affiliate at the same time. If someone clicks your affiliate link and orders your own creation, both commissions stack — giving you up to 15% of that sale.
Even without the affiliate program, publishing a creation is a way to earn passive income for as long as Yuzu customers keep choosing your design.
How to get started
Everything begins in the Playground. Design a set you're happy with, then follow these steps to turn it into a creation:
- Open the set you want to share in the Playground (or save the one you're working on)
- Expand the Settings panel
- In the Advanced section, click Share as a creation
That takes you to the Creator app, where you can add photos, fill in the details, and publish.
A few things to keep in mind
Be original. Don't recreate an existing colorway or take heavy inspiration from a known set — it's disrespectful to the original designer's work, and copycat submissions won't be approved.
Be thorough. Your creation will cover multiple keyboard layouts, and people will be ordering from it. Double-check everything before you publish.
And have fun. There's no constraint on theme, aesthetic, or vibe. The keyboard is your canvas.
